Registration

Enrolment

• Signing up to our courses can be done via email, online or by phone.

Exam registration

• We are happy to help with examination registration and will provide past paper practice in courses tailored to passing language certificate exams.

Placement tests 

• In order to suggest the correct course for our clients we require language level tests to be completed. Our language level tests are free and non-binding . Tests are available online.

Payment and Costs

Contract

• Once you have registered for a course, you will receive course confirmation and an invoice (payable before the course begins). A cash refund of the course fee is not possible should a student stop attending the course before the completion. Only in an exceptional case can a course be remunerated, this is at the discretion of the director and is in the form of a credit note for the next trimester (not transferable, no cash alternative).

Late Payment and Reminder Fees

• Invoices are payable by the due date stated on the invoice.
  If payment is not received by the due date, the Institute reserves the right to charge a reminder fee of CHF 30 per reminder notice.
• If payment remains outstanding after reminders, the Institute reserves the right to initiate debt enforcement proceedings (Betreibung) without further notice. All associated costs may be charged to the Client.

Exams fees

• Exam fees and other costs connected to exam courses are not included in the cost of the course and will be billed to the client separately.

Teachers

• The choice of teacher to carry out a course is determined by Helvetic Language Institute GmbH. In the absence of a written agreement between Helvetic Language Institute and the client, there is no binding right to a certain teacher.

Cancellation Policy

• Private lessons may be cancelled or postponed with at a minimum of 24 hours notice in advance, otherwise the lesson will be charged at the full amount.
• Group lessons cannot be cancelled. Lessons that are not attended cannot be refunded.

Certificate of Attendance

• A course attendance certificate will be issued upon request, on condition that you have attended a minimum of 80% of the course in question.

Data Protection

• Helvetic Language Institute adheres to codes and regulations of data protection law. Under no circumstances will your personal data be sold  to a third party. Read our full Privacy Policy here.

Insurance 

• The use of our premises is at your own individual risk. Helvetic Language Institute will not be made responsible or liable for any theft or loss of personal belongings on our premises.

Governing Law and Place of Jurisdiction 

• These terms of use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Swiss law. The place of jurisdiction being Zug, Switzerland.
