A1 is aimed at those with no basic knowledge of the language.

Our courses at A1 includes:

• Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and simple sentences
• Have simple personal conversations covering topics about work, family, and leisure
• Communicate in simple situations (in the shop, in the restaurant, at the hotel, travelling)
• Read and write notes and short messages (e.g. emails)
• Express likes and dislikes
• Apply learning strategies

The following learning objectives are for the full A1 level and are based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)

• Everyday expressions and the use of very basic phrases.
• Introducing yourself and others.
• Asking simple questions (e.g work, family, place of residence)
• Answering simple questions
• With the help of a dictionary, you can read a short, simple message (e.g. an e-mail), or submit personal information on forms.
• Interact in a simple way provided the other person speaks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

The learning objectives are for the overall level A1. It is only with the at least 80%  attendance of this level that they are achieved.
