Our Phonics Level 2 course is designed for children who have already developed confidence with basic letter sounds and simple CVC words and are ready for the next important stage in reading development.

At this level, children move beyond early word recognition and begin learning how to read more smoothly, spell more accurately, and approach unfamiliar words with greater confidence. This is the stage where reading starts to become more natural, helping children move from sounding out every word to reading with stronger fluency and understanding.

Students are introduced to consonant blends, digraphs such as sh, ch, th, and longer word patterns including CVCC and CCVC words. They also begin working with long vowel sounds, word families, and common sight words, helping them strengthen decoding skills and improve reading speed and confidence.

Lessons are taught through structured phonics activities, guided reading, games, stories, writing practice, and interactive classroom tasks that keep learning enjoyable and motivating.

We focus on helping children apply phonics naturally, rather than simply memorising rules, so they develop real confidence both in reading and writing. Spelling habits, sentence building, pronunciation, listening skills, and reading comprehension are all strengthened at this stage.
